The journey

Ever since I can remember, I’ve wanted to travel across the US. I’ve felt the need to understand what makes up this great country we live in - the people, the landscape, the towns. It was never a question of if I’d do it, but rather how and when.

It just so happens that my Father has always wanted to embark on this adventure as well. A little less than a year ago we realized this overlap…like father, like son. And with time constantly working against us, we thought that we should make a go of it. We’d realize our individual dreams as one.

Today, I’m excited to start this journey across the country by bicycle with the guy who first taught me how to ride one on 14th street in Wilmington, DE. It seems appropriate that our journey will start on Father’s Day and we’ll get to celebrate Dad’s 60th on the trip. It has the hopes to be an epic experience - truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

We’re expecting to have many ups and downs (literally), meet new people whose lives we would have never crossed, see the States in their rich, natural beauty, and have an incredible bonding experience that we’ll live with forever. I hope you’ll follow us on coledude.com and come along for the ride. We’d love to hear from you (and see you if you’re closeby!).

Wheel on!
